A stunning Dom that has really stood the test of time very well. The color is amber-orange with light bubbles. The palate offers wonderfully complex flavors of toasted nuts, dried flowers, biscuits and caramel. Long, lingering finish.
This is a well constituted wine, fruity but not overly so, with sufficient acidity to retain essential freshness over time, ensuring that it keeps well.
The 1978 Harvest
Harvesting did not begin until October 9 for the Pinot Noir and October 11 for the Chardonnay because of climatic conditions and produced a very low yield. The grapes had to undergo very strict selection.
