Vega Sicilia Unico Especial 1985/1986/1990 – Release 2002

Clear, medium-deep black cherry color, touch of garnet at rim. Mostly primary but exceptionally high quality tempranillo fruit, red berry and grape, savory undertones of mushroom and earth, less forward oak than expected, bit of smoke, alcohol a bit fumey but not annoyingly hot. Plenty of juicy acidity and tannin, still light and velvety in the mouth. Slightly muted but very long and fruity finish, bit of stem. Potential to score higher with just a few more years in the cellar. (Cellartracker)
