This has mulled spice, toasty tobacco leaf, and well-roasted wood notes, but it’s not lacking in fruit, with layers of red currant, plum, and blackberry confiture. Sweet smoke, black tea, and iron aromas abound on the lingering finish. A stunning wine from an underappreciated vintage.
