Domaine Georges Lignier is a Burgundy domaine based in Morey-Saint-Denis, known for its wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Founder Georges is a cousin of Hubert Lignier and their two estates have similar – and similarly impressive – vineyard holdings, though the Georges Lignier wines has been described as being more delicate and subtle. Since 2008, Georges’ estate has been run by Benoît Stehly, his nephew.

George Lignier’s prestigious vineyard portfolio includes over a hectare of Clos de la Roche, a smaller portion of Bonnes Mares, and nearly 1.5 hectares (4 acres) of Clos Saint-Denis, making it the largest owner in that vineyard. In all there is 16ha (40 acres) of vineyards across 17 appellations, divided between 50 parcels.

Winemaking is generally described as traditional. The fruit is picked slightly later than average and typically 80 percent destemmed. Village wines are matured in used oak, premier cru wines see 30 percent new oak, and grand cru wines see about 50 percent new oak. More recent vintages have been bottled without fining or filtration.
